Snow White
Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away, there lived a beautiful princess named Snow White. She had skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony. Her beauty was known throughout the land, and she was loved by all who knew her.
But Snow White’s life was not always happy. Her mother, the queen, died when she was very young, leaving her in the care of her father, the king. The king loved his daughter dearly, but he was a busy man, and often had to leave her alone with her stepmother, the queen.
The queen was a vain and jealous woman who could not bear to have anyone more beautiful than herself in the kingdom. She would often look into her magic mirror and ask, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” And the mirror would always reply, “You are, my queen.”
But one day, the mirror gave a different answer. “Snow White is the fairest of them all,” it said.
The queen was furious. She could not let anyone be more beautiful than she was. So she ordered her huntsman to take Snow White deep into the forest and kill her. The huntsman did as he was told, but when he saw Snow White’s beauty and innocence, he could not bring himself to do it. Instead, he left her in the forest and told her to never return to the kingdom.
Snow White was frightened and alone in the forest, but she was a brave and resourceful girl. She found a small cottage and went inside to rest. The cottage belonged to seven dwarfs who were miners, and they were surprised to find Snow White in their home. But they soon grew to love her, and she became like a sister to them.
Meanwhile, the queen believed that Snow White was dead, and she was once again the fairest in the land. But her happiness was short-lived when she heard that Snow White was alive and living with the dwarfs.
The queen decided to take matters into her own hands. She disguised herself as an old woman and went to the cottage where Snow White was living. She offered Snow White a poisoned apple, telling her that it would make her wishes come true.
Snow White was hesitant at first, but the queen was convincing, and she took a bite of the apple. The poison worked quickly, and Snow White fell into a deep sleep.
The dwarfs found Snow White and thought she was dead, so they built her a glass coffin and placed her inside. They mourned for her, and their sadness was so great that they did not want to bury her.
One day, a prince rode through the forest and saw Snow White in her glass coffin. He was struck by her beauty and fell in love with her at first sight. He asked the dwarfs if he could take the coffin back to his kingdom, and they agreed.
As the prince and his men were carrying the coffin away, they stumbled on a root and the coffin was jostled. This caused the piece of apple that Snow White had bitten to become dislodged from her throat, and she woke up.
The prince was overjoyed to see that Snow White was alive, and he took her back to his kingdom. They were married in a grand ceremony, and Snow White became queen. The dwarfs visited her often, and they all lived happily ever after.
The queen, however, was not so lucky. When she heard that Snow White was alive and married to the prince, she was filled with rage. She ran to the highest tower of the castle and threw herself out of the window. Her body was never found, and it was rumored that she had turned into a raven and flown away.
And so, Snow White and the prince ruled the kingdom with kindness and wisdom. They had many children and the people of the kingdom loved them. Snow White never forgot the kindness of the dwarfs and always kept in touch with them. She even invited them to the palace often to hear about their mining adventures.
One day, while the dwarfs were visiting the palace, they brought with them a special gift for Snow White. It was a mirror, much like the one that the queen used to own. But this mirror was different. Instead of reflecting the physical beauty of a person, it reflected the beauty of their heart and soul.
Snow White was amazed by the mirror and decided to hang it in the palace for everyone to see. And soon, people came from all over the kingdom to look at the mirror and see the beauty of their own hearts reflected back at them.
The mirror became a symbol of hope and love in the kingdom, and Snow White was celebrated as a kind and wise queen who had brought happiness and joy to her people.
As for the dwarfs, they continued to work hard in their mines and lived their simple lives. But they were always grateful to Snow White for her kindness and love.
And so, Snow White lived a long and happy life, surrounded by the people she loved and the beauty of the kingdom she had helped create. Her story became a legend, passed down from generation to generation, reminding people of the power of kindness, love, and the beauty that lies within us all.
